Add a Password to Your Zoom Meeting

Step 1: Edit Your Existing Scheduled Meeting
  • Visit your course within Blackboard and click on the ‘Zoom‘ link to access your Zoom schedule.

  • Select your Zoom course under the ‘Topic‘ section by clicking on your topic link.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click ‘Edit this Meeting‘.

Step 2: Update Your Zoom Meeting Options
  • Video:
    • Ensure Host is set to ‘on‘ and Participant is set to ‘off
  • Meeting Options:
    • Select ‘Require meeting password‘ and input your preferred password, you will need to share this password with your class. We recommend using the Announcement or Email feature in Blackboard to communicate with your students.
    • Select ‘Mute participants upon entry‘ to ensure background noise and video from your joining participants does not cause a disruption when they join.
    • Optional: Select ‘Enable waiting room‘ to add an extra layer of security and manually admit all participants
